Do you worry ever worry about the quality of your social media strategy?

Any communications professional knows that on platforms like Twitter, quantity doesn’t always mean quality: more followers won’t make an impact if they are the wrong ones; and, increasing the volume of tweets won’t reach the right people if it’s the wrong content.

So, how do you break the “x% increase in followers=success” formula with the higher-ups?

I ran across this great post from V3 Integrated Marketing last week, via Shonali Burke (NOTE: definitely follower her on Twitter @shonali), about conducting a Twitter audit with simple tools built into the platform.

Or, you might try the Klout Score, another great tool to track your influence on Twitter. Klout scores a myriad of other platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Google+ too.

On the next slow day in the office check out these fascinating tools, and perhaps bring the analysis into your next monthly meeting.

And lastly, quality reader, follow ep on Twitter @ep_comms.
